Open Source Software
I am a great advocate of Open Source Software and I would like to do whatever I can to promote it's use.
Over time I will add listings and articles of some of the software I have come accross and found useful.

- OpenOffice.org
- FileZilla
- PDFCreator
- The Gimp

My OpenSource Toolkit without which I just can't get going:
- Tuxpaint (keeps the kids busy, so I can get to work
- OpenOffice - so I can read documents on Linux and Windows and it doesn't cost a penny (aidcop)
- Vim - so editing code is the same in Linux and Windows
- FreeMind - so I can study anywhere
- Irfanview - Not open source and unfortunately only runs on Windows, but it is really handy and does all the basic image manipulation in no time at all
- The Gimp - if you really need to something weird and wonderful with those images
- PDFCreator - for creating pdfs under M$
- FileZilla - Windows ftp client that gives no problems
- WinSCP - so you don't have to retype the scp command 10 times before getting it right
- putty - when you're stuck to a M$ machine and you need to get something done, somewhere else with something that works!
- NSIS - create installers for your apps under Windows
- Launch4J - to create an .exe for your Java programs for the poor folk who need to run Windows
