We have had great times reading the books below:
| You have to realise, when reading the two Gruffalo books to your children, that it has to be done in a special way. The mouse dialog has to be read in a squeeky voice and for the other animals you have to make appropriate voices. Don't get them wrong because the kids will start to correct you. Then, once you have read the book two or three times, you start leaving out the last word of each sentence and the kids will complete it for you. After a few weeks you and the kids will recite the whole book, voices and all without even reading the book - just looking at the pictures. It is absolutely GREAT fun!!! |
